Who We Are
Supporting Young African Leaders
The Kendita Initiative, founded in August 2020, is a non-profit educational organization working with a small cohort of multilingual African youth to provide leadership training. Our goal is to provide these young people with life skills designed to help them reach their goals which include: furthering their education, finding employment, starting their own business, or applying for further training or mentoring through programs such as the Mandela Washington Fellowship (MWF) and the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI).
Kendita means “Let’s learn"
Our goal is to empower youth/young people and their communities with skills and expertise to create changes in their different communities across the world.
Our Goal
We strive to provide young, multilingual leaders with the tools they need to strengthen the leadership skills they already possess and instill in them the confidence to move confidently through their world.
Our Students
Kendita Intiative participants are young Africans who are keenly interested in becoming change agents in their communities. They have all graduated from high school and some are pursing higher education at the university level. Everyone is multilingual and can speak English and at least one other language.
Our Program
Working with local leaders in South Sudan and Zambia, a team of mentors in the US meets on a regular basis with the students to provide instruction and guidance.
Our Team
A multi-national, highly trained, experienced team of educators and community workers provide life skills education and mentorship to the students.
